Intent: A hair sample allows you to discover little details about any person by examining what she or he has consumed. I wanted to recreate a story through hair that is not necessarily part of the diet but a part of life. The expression of struggles, fears, the moments of doubt, as well as love, and happiness.
This painting represents a woman who is showing her life through her hair as she is directing her hand in a dancing gesture. Looking at this painting, each individual is open to interpret her life in his or her own way.

Creating this painting opened a new way of looking at art to me. Not only did I begin combining multiple pieces to create a large painting. I also discovered a new passion for patterns and the process of thoughts in a visual manner.
There is a constant play of opposite colors in my work. Purple is paired with yellow and blue is with orange to create an effect of movement resembling the evolution of thoughts.

Name: Possessed By The World
Size: 58 Inches By 58 Inches
Year: 2010

Intent: This woman, constantly engaging in social activities and traversing the world, becomes possessed and consumed by commercialism. The wreath around her body, made entirely of receipts, reflects the values and aims of modern society. The mirror that she is holding is meant to reflect the viewer reminding us that this fixation is within us all.
